Coffee’s for Closer’s Only!

Originally a theatre play, Glengarry Glenross was turned into a movie in the early 80’s and boy were the salespeople of the world happy it was. Not only that, but we were even happier that they added a scene into the films screenplay that didnt originally appear in the stage version.

I’m talking, of course, about the foul-mouthed, now infamous fantastic ‘motivation’ scene starring a then very young Alec Baldwin (before he became ‘VP of TV Programming and Micro-wave Oven Sales’ in the hit TV show 30 Rock!).

As he starts his speech a struggling old-school salesman, Jack Lemmon, walks to the coffee machine to pour himself a quick ‘pick-me-upper’. Lemmon is in full-flow when the motivator screams at the top of his lungs “Put that coffee down…”. With shock and disgust on his face he looks up, only to hear the now immortal follow-up line “Coffee’s for Closer only…”.

Correct. Coffee is for Closers, sure. But, a lot more comes from ‘closing’ too.

Four days from now the Olympic Games in Beijing will begin.

Given the fact that pretty much everyone with a TV  on the planet will watch at least some part of this historic event, its kinda hard to imagine not ‘getting excited’ about the whole thing.

At Live2Sell, this is no different… we’ll ‘be there’ too!

However, there is something more important and more exciting about to take shape this month, too! And thats the beginning of not one, not two, but THREE brand new telesales campaigns for clients based in the UK and USA.

As a telesales executive specializing in outbound telemarketing with our company, the chance to work on new campaigns, for new clients, is always an exciting time. Its also a time for new training and the opportunity to learn new techniques and tips in handling customers and potential customers.

A lot different to being an inbound customer service rep, being in telesales has allowed me to progress as an individual and as a professional. A bit like the athletes that will be competing for Gold within the next few weeks…

So, in closing, good luck to all of them, and lets cheer on our favorite sporting personalities as well as our three new clients!
